Overview
GFC’s recruiting and onboarding processes should be clear, welcoming, consistent, and privacy-conscious. A Recruiting & Onboarding Intern may help organize approved candidate and participant workflows without making selection decisions or commitments on GFC’s behalf.
Responsibilities
- Maintain recruiting and onboarding status, next steps, and follow-up records
- Prepare approved communication drafts and onboarding materials
- Review checklists and participant instructions for clarity and consistency
- Organize scheduling needs, required information, and open questions
- Identify stalled handoffs or incomplete onboarding steps for review
Example projects
Depending on current GFC priorities, examples could include:
Refining a new-contributor onboarding checklist and welcome sequence
Organizing recruiting stages and follow-up status for leadership review
Auditing participant instructions for missing or inconsistent information
Who this is for
A welcoming and discreet communicator with strong organization, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through. Respect for candidate privacy and decision boundaries is essential; prior recruiting experience is not required.
What you'll learn
- You’ll have opportunities to gain nonprofit recruiting-operations and onboarding experience, strengthen participant communication, and improve workflows through direct GFC review and feedback. Sanitized checklists or process materials may support a portfolio.
Commitment
This is currently an unpaid volunteer / internship-style opportunity with Giving Foundation for Children Inc. Exact schedule, participation dates, university requirements, and any approved variations are confirmed individually with GFC.
Academic credit, CPT/OPT approval, recommendations, and future employment are not guaranteed.
