Grants & Fundraising Fellow

The opportunity

GFC may pursue grants, sponsorships, and other fundraising opportunities that align with its child-focused Programs and Initiatives. A Grants & Fundraising Fellow may help build the careful research, documentation, and materials GFC needs to evaluate and pursue those opportunities.

What you'll work on

• Research grant and sponsor opportunities aligned with GFC's Programs and current priorities
• Document eligibility, deadlines, requirements, and reliable source links
• Draft sponsor and fundraising materials for GFC review
• Maintain clear opportunity pipelines, statuses, next steps, and follow-up records
• Support application preparation without independently submitting official applications

Example projects

Depending on current GFC priorities, examples could include:

• Building a sourced grant-opportunity brief for a Program area
• Drafting sponsor-facing materials for GFC review
• Organizing a fundraising pipeline with eligibility, deadlines, status, and next steps

What we're looking for

A dependable, relatively independent contributor with strong research, careful writing, sound judgment, and reliable documentation and follow-through. Curiosity and willingness to learn nonprofit funding requirements matter more than a specific credential.

What you'll learn

You'll have opportunities to gain experience with nonprofit grant and sponsor research, eligibility and deadline documentation, fundraising materials, and opportunity pipeline tracking.

Programs, Initiatives, and Campaigns

GFC organizes its mission into long-term Programs, focused Initiatives, and Campaigns made up of projects and coordinated work. Depending on current priorities, Fellows may contribute in different ways.

Engagement details

This is currently an unpaid volunteer / fellowship-style opportunity with Giving Foundation for Children Inc. Fellows are generally expected to contribute approximately 8–10 hours per week and make an initial commitment of approximately six months. Exact schedules, participation dates, university requirements, and any approved variations are confirmed individually with GFC.
