Fellow Opportunity

Project Management Fellow

Supports project planning, milestones, dependencies, follow-up, documentation, and reporting.

The opportunity

GFC coordinates child-focused nonprofit work through long-term Programs, focused Initiatives, Campaigns, and contributor assignments. A Project Management Fellow may help translate priorities into clear plans and keep work organized, visible, and moving forward.

What you'll work on

  • Draft and maintain project briefs, milestones, timelines, and next actions
  • Track dependencies, blockers, risks, decisions, and handoffs across active work
  • Follow up with contributors and help keep responsibilities and due dates clear
  • Prepare concise status updates and progress reports for internal coordination

Example projects

Depending on current GFC priorities, examples could include:

  • Coordinating milestones, dependencies, and status updates for an active Initiative
  • Drafting a project brief and lightweight timeline for a Program priority
  • Tracking blockers and supporting handoffs between contributors working on related assignments

What we're looking for

A dependable, organized, relatively independent contributor who can coordinate multiple moving pieces and follow up respectfully and consistently. Strong judgment, clear writing, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through matter more than a specific credential or project-management certification.

What you'll learn

You'll have opportunities to gain experience with nonprofit project planning, milestone and dependency tracking, risk and blocker management, handoffs, and status reporting.
